I combine Swedish
massage techniques along with Lomi Lomi and firm/deep tissue work to help you
achieve relief and promote your health and healing .
The work I do typically falls under the umbrellas of therapeutic
and medical massage though there is also a deeply relaxing
quality to my work for most clients. I also provide
relaxation massage (an overall lighter, less specific type of
massage), pregnancy massage and 90-120 minute Lomi Lomi massage
sessions which most clients find to be amazingly relaxing and
therapeutic.

Lomi Lomi is an ancient form of massage
developed by Hawaiian healers. While it is gentle and soothing, it can be
incredibly deep work. Sometimes referred to as “loving hands massage”
or “sacred Hawaiian massage” it is a massage experience unlike any other.
There is a great deal of information to be found about Lomi Lomi on the
internet and while I encourage you to look into it, there is some misleading
information out there (and several different kinds of Lomi Lomi, some using
significantly less draping than we’ll use!) Lomi Lomi uses long
continuous, flowing strokes, combined with a very loving touch to assist the
body into a blissful state of relaxation and healing. I sometimes
refer to it as "sneaky deep tissue" for those that enjoy more pressure as it
isn't the brutal and invasive type of touch. It can get intensely
deep- but gently so.
With reflexology, different areas of the
hands, feet and ears are viewed as having direct relation to various organs
and parts of the body. With Lomi, different parts of the body
are viewed as relating to ancestors and time periods in our lives.
Your hips are your ancestors, your shoulder blades are your mother and
father, the left side of your body relates to the feminine, your lower legs
reflect birth to age 21, etc. Lomi has a story to it, much as we all
have our life stories. You are welcome to ask about the story, or
simply enjoy it for the amazing and powerful massage work that it is.
A Lomi Lomi massage is said to be like a prayer for healing from beginning
to end. Lomi uses the concept of intention as well. You are
invited to set an intent for your session. It can be as simple as "I
want to experience complete relaxation," or as in depth as, "I would like
clarity about the ______ situation in my life."
