What to Expect In & From Your Massage Session

This is your time and my goal is provide you with a nurturing, safe and relaxing environment that focuses and supports your health and healing.   During your session you need not lift or move a single muscle unless it is specifically requested of you.

If at any time you find anything to not be conducive to your relaxation and comfort (music, temperature, pressure, etc.) please speak up and let me know.  It is very important that you communicate these pieces of information during your session so that you will be as comfortable as possible and receive the most benefit.  Please note that this does not mean you need to chat during your session.

General Process of a Session:

*   After arrival you will be asked to complete a brief intake form and answer a few

questions about your general health and well-being.

*   Next, we'll discuss what you would like to get out of the session.

*   I will then leave the room so that you can get undressed and under the sheets on

the table.   Please take off whatever clothing you are comfortable removing, including

    any jewelry.

*  When we begin our session I will only uncover the particular area that I am working on.

*  We'll continue to communicate during the session regarding your comfort and the depth

of pressure as you are experiencing it.  Again, it is very important that you speak up if

you are experiencing any discomfort.  Often even a slight discomfort due to positioning

can be fixed to make you more comfortable.

*  At the end of your session I will leave the room again so that you can get dressed.

Outcome:

*  My work is always outcome-oriented in that I put special attention and effort towards

any particular goals you may have.  Those goals can be as "simple" as "I want to relax"

or longer term goals of trying to reduce and manage chronic pain/conditions such as

carpal tunnel, low back pain or migraines.
